GETTING TO CORTE
Located in central Corsica, Corte is 85 km from Ajaccio and 70 km from Bastia.
Corte is connected to Bastia and Ajaccio by the departmental road 93.
The town is served by the SNCF railway line, which links Bastia and Ajaccio (the island’s only railway line).

GETTING TO L’ÎLE-ROUSSE

In northwestern Corsica, L’Île-Rousse is 70 km from Bastia and 60 km from Corte. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, this coastal town has a major port with ferry connections to mainland France, mainly Nice and Toulon. It is located 25 km from Calvi airport.

In Corsica, distances are measured in hours rather than kilometres! For example, travelling from Bastia to Corte takes around 1 hour 15 minutes to cover the 70 kilometres between the two towns. To reach Bastia from Ajaccio, which is 180 km away, you should allow about 2 hours 45 minutes

In late September and early October, Corsica enjoys pleasantly mild conditions. The sun is still very present, with 6 to 7 hours of sunshine per day. Temperatures range between 23 and 27 °C, depending on the region.
Be aware that nights become cooler, with minimum temperatures around 12 to 15 °C, especially in the mountains or inland areas.
The Mediterranean Sea remains warm enough for swimming, often around 24 °C in early October.
